The NEOMA Alumni Association, NEOMA Business School and its Foundation have joined forces to help students affected by the health crisis by creating the NEOMA Solidarity Fund. After a series of measures dedicated to the well-being of students, this new solidarity fund aims this time to support them financially in the face of the difficulties caused by this unprecedented crisis. To mark its support for this initiative, which is in line with its commitment to diversity and equality, NEOMA Business School matches every donation collected with 100%.
Loss of a student job, postponed or even suspended internship or apprenticeship periods, maintenance of rental charges, uncertain financial situation of parents… The reasons that have led students into precariousness since the beginning of this crisis are numerous, inevitably widening the already existing inequalities. “Some of our students are now facing a real social emergency“, says Claudine Benhennou, General Delegate of the NEOMA Foundation. Thus, since the beginning of this crisis, nearly 400 students of the School have been identified as being in a critical situation.
Faced with this situation, the entire NEOMA ecosystem has chosen to mobilise for the benefit of the students most in difficulty. Based on a tripartite initiative, the School, the Foundation and the NEOMA Alumni Association are launching the NEOMA Solidarity Fund. “The strength of our community lies in the trio we form with the School, its Foundation and the NEOMA Alumni Association. It is together, and by acting in solidarity that we can mobilize our community and its members. We must capitalize on our complementarity. I know, from experience, to what extent a strong coherence of these three bodies is a very powerful lever“.
The campaign to collect donations, launched in particular on social networks under the hashtag #WeAreNEOMA, has aroused great enthusiasm in the School’s community. “We are very proud of the mobilization of our Alumni which goes beyond borders“, underlines Agnès Flouquet-Vilboux, General Director of NEOMA Alumni. “We have received support from the US and Mexican communities, as well as mobilization from Germany, Switzerland, Belgium for example. These are all illustrations of the attachment of the graduates to the members of the community and the power of our network“. In order to significantly support this solidarity initiative, NEOMA Business School has chosen to match each donation up to 100%, a measure in line with the School’s strong commitment to equality and diversity.
Although the NEOMA solidarity fund is still open to donations, the first financial allocations have already been made, with average amounts of €350 per month, which vary according to the situation of each individual. New allocation commissions are planned in the coming days.
