Internationalisation and new initiatives in Master in Management: NEOMA Business School’s Strategic Plan 2022 is ready for action
Published on 27 May 2019 by LucieD
In October, NEOMA Business School revealed its Strategic Plan 2022. The School is now turning its development ambitions into reality by announcing numerous new international agreements, as well as several innovations within the Master in Management. These new initiatives are directly in line with the School’s spirit of challenge, which seeks to reinvent the way Higher Education operates.
Internationalization growing ever stronger
The international dimension is at the heart of the School’s Strategic Plan, where there has always been a historic predisposition towards immersion. “NEOMA Business School has an ambitious policy of international development based on high-level partnerships, sending small groups of students to immerse themselves in the courses, academic life and student experience of other countries,” explains the Dean, Delphine Manceau. Today the School is announcing the signing of 30 new agreements with top-level institutions, all accredited. “We are delighted to welcome these universities into the network, which now has 330 partners. They share the same academic rigour, as well as the same values and the same vision of immersion as NEOMA Business School,” says Delphine Manceau. “To mention just a few, there are the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Hong Kong Baptist University, the American University of Beirut, and Baruch College in New York.”
The School is also reinforcing its stance by challenging the traditional model of the academic exchange. “Reinventing international immersion is one of the strong points of our strategic plan. This commitment is expressed in the creation of innovative arrangements which enable us to make alliances with the best institutions in the world,” states Delphine Manceau. In line with this attitude the ‘Entrepreneurs without borders’ programme is being enhanced by two new partners: UC Berkeley in the United States and Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, which join the Fondation Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil and Shanghai Jiaotong University in China. This arrangement now covers four continents and offers students the chance to follow courses in entrepreneurship, immerse themselves in the academic incubator of the partner, access the local ecosystems and therefore construct start-ups that are international from the outset. “Our business students now have the opportunity to join the incubator of a renowned university to launch their business creation project in a global setting right from the start,” explains Céline Davesne, Associate Dean for Programmes & International.
Master in Management : 2 new pathways of excellence from 2019
In the same spirit, the Master in Management Programme is evolving to reinforce even further its internationalisation and the expertise developed by the students. From the start of the 2019 academic year, it will offer two international pathways of excellence:
· · The ‘Global Experiences’ pathway of excellence offers the opportunity to undertake two academic semesters on two different continents (one per year) during the first two years of study, both in top-flight universities. These experiences are complemented by two international internships. “This arrangement is a unique opportunity for our students to be exposed to two different parts of the world and to benefit from a pathway enriched on three levels: academic experience, professional experience and cultural experience,” says Sylvie Jean, Director of the Master in Management Programme. The network of this new arrangement now covers 27 universities in 20 countries, all accredited, over five continents. “We are fortunate to count among them St Gallen University in Switzerland and the University of Laval in Canada.”
· · The ‘Future in Asia’ pathway of excellence is intended for those interested in Asia, with two academic experiences in two countries of choice from China, Korea, India, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. To complement this teaching, two internships will be undertaken on site. This new pathway is based on the School’s historic partnerships, among the most highly recognised in this area, such as Sun Yat-Sen University in China and Nagoya University in Japan. “Asia plays a top-level economic role on the world stage, encouraging many students to envisage part of their future professional pathway,” says Sylvie Jean. “The complexity and richness of the continent of Asia are such that long experience is an absolute necessity.”

Another major new development for the new academic year of 2020 is the conversion of the specialisations of the Master in Management into the Masters of Science (MSc) and the creation of new MSc courses, adding a new dimension to the student pathway. The programme now offers all its students the chance to obtain:
· either a double diploma Master in Management / MSc from NEOMA Business School,

“We are championing more than ever our wish to turn our Master in Management Programme into exceptional professional training combining the advantages of a generalist training and the strengths of a specialist course,” emphasises Sylvie Jean. “Among the opportunities on offer, we could mention the triple diploma with the University of San Diego centred on our MSc Investment Analysis, and the one centred on the MSc in International Luxury Management with Politecnico di Milano.”
