People & Organisations
The People & Organisations Department is involved in all aspects of leading and managing people and organisations, in an increasingly dynamic and complex environment. With a focus on the importance of diversity, equality, and social responsibility, the Department’s research activities inform teaching across a wide variety of the school’s programmes. One of the Department’s core goals is to contribute to the development of agile, yet rigorous, management practices, which are sensitive to the key issues in society that not only inform the world of work today, but also the future of work, in the face of ever-shifting contexts.
The faculty in this Department conducts research that spans key management topics, such as leadership, social network analysis, institutional logics, complexity, emotions, and diversity/inequality management. With a further focus on managing organisational change – particularly in the context of digital transformations, Artificial Intelligence and the “green” transition of the workplace – the faculty of the People & Organisations Department are at the forefront of timely and relevant scholarly discussions in their field, as evidenced by publications in top-ranked journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Journal of Applied Psychology.
