Confucius Institute Day, a Chinese cultural event celebrated simultaneously all over the world, took place this year on 27 September. On this occasion, the NEOMA Confucius Institute for Business – Rouen organised a day devoted to discovering alternative aspects of China.
In line with its dual mission of helping both companies and individuals to discover China, the NEOMA Confucius Institute for Business – Rouen proposed activities for all throughout the day.
For companies, a roundtable took place in the morning on the topic of “Working with China: professional and personal challenges.” With the help of feedback from participants, the conversation gave insights into the challenges and characteristics of intercultural management, problems related to diversity management etc. (find out more).
In the afternoon, nearly 300 people, young and old, families and friends, took part in the introductory events and workshops proposed: dance, cooking, traditional makeup, calligraphy, strategy games, introduction to the Chinese language, presentation of the Chinese martial arts Wushu, Taijiquan, QiGong, fans, paper cutting and the tea ceremony. The backdrop to all this was an exhibition of photos by a NEOMA BS alumnus working as an expatriate in Shanghai.
At the end of the day, all the participants released traditional Chinese sky lanterns made of rice paper, used in traditional Chinese celebrations.
