Half of all managers pass at least one test during their job application procedure. In a very large majority of cases, it is a personality test. For more than 90% of recruiters, personality tests are the best way of predicting the future performance of a candidate. However, contrary to this belief, personality is a very mediocre predictor of success and performance. Companies therefore face a real threat of recruitment errors. Other aspects, such as aptitudes, appear to be more reliable. A study carried out by the Chair in New Careers shows that assessing cognitive schemas is another promising avenue to investigate. (…)
