NEOMA's world

Thematics :

Samia BELAOUNIA, a professor in the NEOMA Business School Finance department has just released “Analyse financière – cours et exercices d’application,” published by Ellipses, in April 2017.

Presentation by the publisher
Since the early 1980s, financial analysis has changed enormously under the effect of the liberalisation equity markets and the onward march of globalisation. The field of financial analysis has broadened considerably: it is no longer motivated simply by the desire to estimate solvency risk from banking wealth management perspectives, but includes investor and stakeholder standpoints concentrating on “value” maximisation.
In such a context, this book, covering both French and IFRS accounting norms:
•    Presents diagnostic techniques. It includes a relatively comprehensive section on the dynamic analysis of solvency based on the cash flow statement;
•    Highlights the economic and financial dimension of indicators and restatements and reflects on the scope and limits of these tools. These are therefore systematically presented with regard to the context and the analyst’s objectives to enable them to be really mastered, rather than applied simply as “recipes". The choice of the right tool for a given situation depends on this, given the broad range of technical definitions.
The last chapter is entirely devoted to applications and a case study, with answers detailing both technical and methodological aspects.
This book targets students in management and engineering schools, and economics and management university departments, and accounting and finance executives.
