NEOMA's world

Thematics :

Darren Hanson, Global Partnerships Director and Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at NEOMA BS was invited to give a talk at the International Conference on “Multiculturalism in the Workplace”, organised by the Wee Kim Wee Centre of Singapore Management University, on 21 and 22 January 2016.

The conference explored urgent and important issues and challenges relating to multiculturalism in the workplace, through presentations given by significant individuals from around the globe.

Darren’s talk was focused on multicultural issues in the French workplace. It offered a history of integration of different racial and religious groups into France over the past 40 years. The large portion of Muslims in France was of course a notable feature, as too the implications and challenges for the promotion of a harmonious workplace, and the reported backlash against the Muslim community following the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Being recognised as an expert by the international research community, Darren was sponsored by the Wee Kim Wee Centre, institute dedicated to promoting a deeper understanding of the impact of cultural diversity on the business environment. This could be the first step for a fruitful research cooperation between NEOMA BS and Singapore Management University, which is regarded as one of the top business schools in the world.
