Startup Weekend by Declic: 54 hours in the name of innovation!
Published on 04/3/2018
From 23-25 March, fifty or so budding entrepreneurs gathered on the Rouen campus at NEOMA Business School to take part in the Startup Weekend organised by the Declic Entreprendre Association.
For 54 hours, the participants worked together in teams, exchanging ideas on their company creation projects. The experience was all the more enriching due to the diverse yet complementary range of skills and experience in areas such as development, sales, communication, as students or professionals. By the end of the weekend, four projects really stood out.
FIRST PRIZE went to the COURCI project, the virtual assistant aimed at helping students find all the relevant information concerning their course work and life on campus. Team COURCI was awarded a cheque for €1000 offered by NEOMA BS Incubators (€500 available immediately, with a further €500 should the startup be created).
The PRIZE FOR INNOVATION was awarded to WISION, eye-wear for the visually impaired incorporating a sonar obstacle detection system. Team WISION will benefit from training and assistance offered by Normandie Incubation (twelve 2-hour workshops inside the Incubator alongside incubated or to-be-incubated projects + 1 day's training or action per week over 3 months).
The PRIZE FOR BEST PITCH was awarded to KALICO, high-end organic fabric handkerchiefs. KALOCO team members will be able to enjoy 10 nights in a European city of their choice offered by Yestudent: Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Helsinki…
Finally, the PRIZE FOR THE JURY'S 'COUP DE CŒUR' was awarded to GALLICA, a platform aimed at financing a positive economy by offering a rapid response to entrepreneurs in financial difficulty. Team GALLICA will also enjoy a 5-night stay in a European city thanks to Yestudent.
