For the whole of a week, second-year students from the NEOMA Business School TEMA programme worked to develop an innovative product, from its design to the presentation of a prototype.

The seminar began with a professional presenting a problem. Philippe MILLE, master chef from the “Les Crayères” restaurant in Reims, gave the students the following challenge: “I would like to have a universal fork. Universal in that it could be used for all kinds of dishes, but also universal in terms of culture.”

To fulfil the task successfully, the TEMA students of management and technology worked with students in applied arts from Maestris Prépa, forming mixed, multidisciplinary teams.

Brainstorming sessions are followed by the development of product prototypes, initially in clay and then with a 3D printer and a laser cutting machine.
“Using these technologies we were able to make prototypes, test them, and see what worked well and what didn’t. We improved the product as the week progressed to obtain a finished product that we are ready to present to professionals,” explains Gauthier, a second-year TEMA student.

The seminar concluded with a showroom session, during which each group presented its innovation.
