The Digit Hackathon, our students at the heart of the collective project

This past May, students in the MS/MSc International Financial Analysis, the MSc Finance and Big Data and the MSc Supply Chain and Digital Transformation participated in a Digit Hackathon. In groups, they had to create an innovative company in forty-eight hours.
Why was it valuable? The concept of the hackathon and its restricted time create competition and a simulation around a collective project. The students from the three programmes do not just apply what they’ve learned in their courses, but also combine their cultures, learn from one another and learn to work as a team.
What did the students think? “We were able to get together with peers from big data”, said Malvin, a student in the MS/MSc International Financial Analysis programme, “and share our respective specialisations. We really built up our skills on project development and learned how to create and make a pitch”. “It was two very enriching days for team management”, said Jade, a student in the same programme.
