On Monday, 25 November, the members of the Chair in Industrial Bioeconomy visited the Syvalom facility, a domestic waste treatment and recycling syndicate in the Marne department of France. Syvalom handles the treatment and recycling of household waste in the Marne. It unites 11 members, 2 metropolitan areas, 6 town municipalities, 1 urban community and 2 collection syndicates and it can process 168,000 tons of waste per year. This visit provided insight into research prospects concerning waste management and the ecological transition of certain regions.
