BALASUBRAMANIAM Swaminathan

Swaminathan Balasubramaniam is an Assistant Professor in Finance at NEOMA Business School, Reims campus. He received his PhD at Washington University in St Louis. He is teaching Data Science for Finance and Financial Decision Making under Uncertainty at NEOMA Business School. His research broadly focuses on the role of information in financial markets and liquidity. In his thesis, he studied the link between disagreement and information sharing in financial markets. He also studied how banks could design disclosure policies to prevent depositor runs. In other work, he has analyzed the liquidity benefits of competition in private equity markets and has developed an option-pricing model for pricing liquid assets in a cash management setting. He has presented his work at the Midwest Economics Association conference in 2021 and the Society for Economic Dynamics conference in 2019. Prior to his Phd, Swami worked in investment banking where he facilitated equity investment in top Indian banks.
