Support to research
NEOMA Business School provides teaching staff with a customised and collegial work environment that favours the production of research. Several top-level support mechanisms are available to our faculty, throughout their research projects.
Personalised agenda and mentoring
Faculty members build their own research agendas, supported by their Head of Department. This proactive approach enables more time to be released and dedicated to research. It also promotes the devising of initiatives to support the development of research over the academic year, through: training, workshops, departmental seminars, Research in the rough, and research coffees, to name a few of the available research development activities.
We offer a mentoring programme to any faculty member who might feel the need for it. This mentorship relation with an experienced member of teaching staff makes it possible to give personalised support to more junior members of staff, and often ends with the development of a common paper or project.
Various mechanisms for financial support
External funding
Several partners of NEOMA Business School support research projects via dedicated financing (e.g. local authorities). Our faculty has also been successful in attracting funding via other institutional sources (such as the French government and the EU Commission). An administrative team helps the faculty with the preparation of funding applications at local, national, and international levels.
Internal funding
NEOMA Business School also supports the launch of relevant research projects thanks to various mechanisms of internal financing (for example, the Areas of Excellence and the “Seed Money Program” for promising new projects). To benefit from this support, applicants must demonstrate how their studies align with the strategic vision of the School (as embodied in the Areas of Excellence) and the impact their studies have on society.
Areas of Excellence funding: this funding mechanism started in May 21, with the first AEs call for projects. The aim is to fund high-quality and impactful projects that are aligned with the AEs topics. The projects are selected jointly by the AEs Directors, the AEs sub-areas coordinators, the Director of Research and the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research.
Resources available for publication
Research infrastructure for behavioural studies
For their research project, faculty can use our two research laboratories, called Behavioral Labs, which are located on both campuses, to conduct experiments on individual behaviour.
Dedicated copy-editing support
The Research Department also has a copy-editor, who gives faculty personalised support to help them improve the quality of their writing in papers intended for international academic journals. The copy-editor will also hold regular seminars to increase the chances of publication in these very selective scientific publications.
