Distance learning

The distance learning programmes implemented at NEOMA meet two key needs: to train managers capable of adapting to hybrid working arrangements and to prepare employees to engage in lifelong self-directed learning.

This is why NEOMA organises its learning activities around the NEOPEDAGOGIE model. This model keeps face-to-face teaching at the heart of the student experience (around 90 per cent), supplemented by periods of independent distance learning (around 10 per cent).

These distance learning sessions take the form of so-called ‘asynchronous’ sessions. Each asynchronous session is designed to represent a workload equivalent to a 3-hour face-to-face session.

Students generally complete this workload on their computers, but the tasks set may be experiential and/or non-digital in nature.

As such, lecturers retain the pedagogical freedom to propose the content best suited to the continuity of the course and its objectives; they determine the appropriate assessments, as well as the point at which this distance learning will fit logically and seamlessly into the course schedule.

Distance learning arrangements therefore provide an opportunity for students to work on a variety of content, such as:

•    Content specifically designed and organised on the Courses platform

•    Harvard case studies

•    Fieldwork (surveys, interviews)

•    Carrying out complex projects, either individually or in groups

•    e-learning content (ranging from high-quality ‘Made in NEOMA’ distance learning content to interactive web series)

In addition to these formats integrated into NEOPEDAGOGIE, lecturers sometimes also offer ‘flipped classroom’ approaches, where students are encouraged to review content between face-to-face sessions to foster discussion and debate during lessons.

Evaluation procedures

The programme is recognised through a dual validation:

• Ongoing assessment: evaluations conducted throughout the length of the programme in the form of individual or collective reports to be submitted
• A final evaluation: performed at the end of the course, it can be done under different forms – it is, for the most part, individual

At the end of the programme, the programme participants have to validate 60 ECTS credits.

If some modules were not validated and thus no credits were earned, the programme participant can redo the evaluation during a period set up for this purpose.
