Choose your specialisation

Students in the MSc International Finance develop their expertise by choosing one of three specialised concentration tracks. Each track is designed to align with specific career goals and interests within the financial sector.

To learn more about the MSc International Finance concentration tracks in detail, please download the programme brochure.

Asset Management & Investment Research Track - Reims

Develop your expertise in portfolio management and investment research, including equities and credit. The track includes preparation for CFA Level II or III, depending on your CFA progress and the relevant prerequisites.

Learn from Ecofi’s investment professionals

For the 2026-2027 academic year, NEOMA Business School has partnered with Ecofi, an asset management firm committed to sustainable finance, to enrich the Asset Management & Investment Research track. Through classes, masterclasses and a team challenge, you develop your understanding of bond analysis and socially responsible investing, then present your recommendations to industry professionals.

Corporate Finance & Investment Banking Track - Reims or Rouen

Develop skills in valuation, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and financing decisions. Cases and simulations connect financial analysis with companies’ strategic challenges.

Financial Markets & Risk Management Track - Rouen

Analyse markets and financial risks using data and emerging technologies. The track offers FRM® and SCR® preparation; each certification’s specific conditions apply.

A curriculum combining foundations and specialisation

The MSc International Finance combines a core curriculum with a specialist track, helping you build a broad understanding of finance while developing expertise in your chosen field. During the first semester, you strengthen your knowledge and analytical skills. In the second semester, your track’s courses address the specific challenges of your area of specialisation.

Throughout the programme, case studies, simulations and professional tools help you apply your knowledge and explain the reasoning behind your decisions. A dissertation and four to six months of professional experience complete your studies.

Skills objectives

The MSc International Finance programme, awarding the Diplôme d’études supérieures spécialisées en management international (DESSMI), develops the ability to:

  • Conduct a functional diagnosis and implement an action plan incorporating international, digital and sustainability dimensions.
  • Conduct a scientific study and formulate a recommendation.
  • Develop ethical leadership skills to strengthen your managerial approach.

The certification’s skills blocks cannot be acquired separately. The proposed curriculum covers all skills blocks.

Inside the programme

Subject areas

Financial modelling and valuation, derivatives, data analysis, FinTech and sustainable finance form the programme’s foundation. Your chosen track then develops your expertise in asset management, corporate finance or risk management.

Teaching and learning

Teaching combines academic learning, case studies and simulations. Activities include an equity research note and an international financial simulation. Trading rooms in Reims and Rouen, together with access to Bloomberg and Capital IQ, help you become familiar with industry tools.

Certifications and tools

The programme offers preparation or certification pathways related to Bloomberg and the AMF, alongside track-specific preparation: CFA® Level II or III for Asset Management & Investment Research, and FRM® and SCR® for Financial Markets & Risk Management. Each certification has its own eligibility and assessment requirements.

Professional experience

Four to six months of professional experience allows you to apply your learning. This may take the form of an internship, fixed-term or permanent employment, or business creation, in France or abroad. Its relevance and validation arrangements are reviewed by the academic team.

Programme adjustments for high-level athletes and artists

Programme adjustments may be available to high-level athletes and artists, depending on their circumstances. Contact the programme team to discuss possible arrangements.

Distance learning

NEOMA’s distance learning systems address two essential needs: training managers who can adapt to hybrid working methods and preparing employees to engage in autonomous, lifelong learning.

To achieve this, NEOMA structures its learning approaches around the NEOPEDAGOGIE model. This model keeps in-person teaching at the heart of the student experience (approximately 90%), supplemented by independent, remote learning activities (around 10%).

These remote learning activities take the form of so-called "asynchronous" sessions. Each asynchronous session is designed to represent a workload equivalent to a 3-hour in-person class.

Students typically complete this workload on their computers, though the assigned tasks may also be experiential and/or non-digital in nature.
In this context, professors retain full pedagogical freedom to propose the most suitable content for course continuity and the intended learning objectives. They determine the appropriate assessments and decide when the remote work logically and seamlessly fits into the course schedule.

The distance learning systems thus provide students with the opportunity to engage with diverse types of content, such as:

  • Content specifically designed and organised on the Courses platform
  • Harvard Business School case studies
  • Fieldwork (surveys, interviews)
  • Complex projects, completed individually or in groups
  • iLearning content (high-end, NEOMA-designed distance learning content in the format of interactive web series)

In addition to these formats integrated into NEOPEDAGOGIE, some professors also use "flipped classroom" approaches, where students are encouraged to review content between in-person sessions to foster discussion and debate during classes.

Assessment Methods

The programme is validated through two forms of assessment:

  • continuous assessment: assessments conducted throughout the programme in the form of individual or group assignments to be submitted,
  • final assessment: conducted at the end of each course, this may take different forms and is predominantly individual.

At the end of the programme, once the ECTS credits for each year of study have been validated, participants are awarded the Level 7 DESSMI – MSc International Finance qualification.

If certain modules have not been validated and the corresponding credits have not been obtained, students may take a resit assessment during the scheduled periods.

Stories

Anqi YANG
2013-14

The first year of my MSc was a year of building the fundamentals skills necessary for almost every aspect of my professional life. Courses like Quantitative Methods gave me skills related to several fields of study, like economics and finance, helping me to read and analyse data in a more objective way. Geopolitics provided me with a comprehensive vision of world trade. Also, a full day’s work in an English-speaking environment strengthened my preparation for work in an international context. The courses were extremely useful and gave me confidence in my skills. What I also liked a lot is the diversity of teachers; they are from different countries, which really gives me a feeling of studying in an international school.
