LOBBEDEZ Elise
PhD in Management and Organization Studies
Elise is an assistant professor of sustainability at NEOMA Business School. Her research focuses on activist work, investigating how heterogeneous actors come together and organize, despite their differences, to resist or advocate for change. Trained as an ethnographer, she explores this question through qualitative methods, examining contexts where actors openly challenge power structures. She led fieldwork in several settings, including the French gilets jaunes movement, the mobilization against mega-basins, and recently the critical mass movement.
Her research appears in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Studies, Mobilization: An International Quarterly, as well as in the press. Elise is also a member of the editorial collective of ephemera: theory & politics in organization, where she serves as an editor for the open section. Prior joining NEOMA, she completed her PhD degree at emlyon business school and was an assistant professor at the University of Essex (UK).
