NEO’Insights #6 | Managing through crises in services and sales

NEO’Insights | Managing through crises in services and sales

In today’s turbulent times, frontline employees face many stressors, both on and off the job. Resilience : the ability to overcome adversity and bounce back ; is often treated as an individual trait, yet research shows that it is a group phenomenon and a performance lever that managers can actively shape.

Recent research shows that frontline employees’ resilience is driven by a sense of competence and strong connections with coworkers and customers. Rather than focusing on monetary compensation, managers can support resilience by strengthening employee skillsets and fostering a workplace culture where peers help each other out.

During this interactive online NEO’Insights conference, Dr. Amy Fehl shares research-backed recommendations for managers to support frontline employees facing daily challenges and extraordinary stressors, reduce turnover, and sustain performance in services and sales during troubling times. Topics include peer support, matching employee skills to job requirements, and the role of customer–employee relationships in building resilience.
