NEOMA's world

Thematics :

Muriel Secondé-Naivin has taken up a post as Director of a château. To help her take up this new role, she decided to consolidate her management skills. She opted for the Global Executive MBA at NEOMA Executive Education.

1/ Why I chose the Global Executive MBA at NEOMA Executive Education

“Not long ago I was Head of a communications agency that specialised in retail. Now I am in charge of the Château de Sacy, with the title of ‘Maître de Maison’, equivalent to the role of CEO. When I took up this new post, I looked for a course that would give me a toolbox. I needed to broaden my experience, to acquire management skills, and to have a more global vision to run my business.

I chose NEOMA Executive Education because its programme seemed comprehensive and above all because the human dimension fitted with my personal values. Those are what I wanted to establish in my business. I also liked the pace of the course: a meeting, known as a seminar, once per month, and therefore compatible with your professional and personal life.”

2/ What I gained from this training

“This Global Executive MBA gave me all the skills I could dream of in the field of management itself, and then on all aspects of enterprise, financial, economic in the widest sense, strategic and marketing. And in terms of leadership, it gave me the strength to take up this position that I hardly dared take up. I learned how to chart the course of a business, how to act so that others would follow and see me as an example, while placing each person securely in their role and ensuring their personal development within a team. My Executive MBA at NEOMA helped me develop my self-confidence and perhaps also gave my work a certain form of legitimacy.”

3/ What are my projects?

“Since I finished my Global Executive MBA at NEOMA I feel as if I have grown wings. That is to say that my view of what is possible has become far wider. And I’m no longer afraid to dare, or to take initiatives. This means that, whatever the place and environment where I am working or interacting with a team, it’s not so much the place itself, but the opportunity that the place can offer. It’s that ability to adapt to every environment, whatever it may be, with passion, courage and conviction.”
