NEOMA's world

Thematics :

Student activities and campus life are exceptionally active at NEOMA. Here we look back at 3 of February’s highlights.

1/ The Cheer Up Society of Reims organised a health day

The 4 February was World Cancer Day. The Cheer Up Society of Reims decided to raise the awareness of the students and also of the teaching staff and colleagues. The day comprised a talk by Antoine Demonceaux, a homeopathic doctor and psychoanalyst, and workshops focussed on health, well-being and managing one’s emotions. The event was open to all.

2/ Students on the MSc in Sustainability Transformations took part in a diversity fresco

On 14 February, students on the MSc in Sustainability Transformations took part in a diversity fresco, organised in partnership with Dassault Systems. Many different types of discriminations were examined that day…disability, gender, ethnic or social origin, religious conviction, sexual orientation, and more. “The diversity fresco is particularly interesting because it offers solutions,” reported Jeanne, a student. “I thought it was great to be able to put into words issues you might see but don’t usually take much notice of.”

3/ The Envie D’Sup Society organised a ‘UN simulation’

On 26 February, the Envie D’Sup Society organised a ‘UN simulation’ at Rouen City Hall. It brought together around thirty school students prepared to negotiate two resolutions concerning sport. The first was about “Creating a common fund financed by all countries at 0.005% of their GDP, to support the identification of young sportsmen and women in developing countries”; the second involved “Creating an institution under the aegis of the UN to monitor the neutrality of sports events.” These subjects were close to the hearts of the young students! They were divided into eight delegations, and each defended their point of view in a speech. They then had to negotiate, and vote for – or against – the resolutions. Each group was supported by a member of Diploma’see, for geopolitical expertise, and a tutor from Envie D’Sup. The workshop had a threefold objective: to stimulate the critical thinking and debating skills of the students, to immerse the young people in the world of diplomacy and international relations, and to strengthen their skills in public speaking and negotiation.
