WRIGHT

I have a keen interest in creativity and the spoken word which I have been exploring and developing over the past 10 years by running interactive public speaking workshops for business students and professionals. These workshops use theatre techniques and stress management strategies to help people improve their oral communications skills in the workplace. My strong grounding in biology and art  enriches and informs my practise.

Over the past five years I have been looking more closely at stress management techniques and taken training courses online in heart coherence (Heartmath Institute, 2011), Breathology (Breathology Academy Stig Severinsen 2014), Speak with Freedom method (Pers Bristow, 2014) to deepen my understanding of the subject. This is supplemented by my continuing practice in modern qi-gong which also addresses stress management issues. I have also attended a 2 day course in Process Communication run by Philip Sirault in 2013 at Neoma which has given me greater insight into team management issues.

Teaching team management and negotiation skills has also led me to study Marshall Rosenberg’s Non Violent Communication process (NVC) used in conflict management situations. Over the past three years I have attended several workshops in Paris and elsewhere organized by the AFFCNV (association of French trainers in Non Violent Communication) to acquire basic notions in NVC (6 day programme 2013), as well as two workshops on NVC techniques using improvisation and theatre (two 4 day workshops, 2014, 2015). I would like to continue to develop my interest in this field by attending a longer workshop on ‘NVC in the workplace’ organized by Françoise Keller (AFFCNV) in Lyon.

Alongside my teaching practise at Neoma I have been working for over 20 years in the world of art and creative workshops as an art assistant/artist with artist Paul David Wright on art projects, including one man shows, open studios, creative art workshops for children and adults, street installations for art festivals, and stage decor for rock bands in France and England. The biggest project to date has involved organising and overseeing a solo exhibition of Paul David Wright's work at the World Peace Centre in Verdun (2011). This exhibition lasted 6 months and included over 350 artworks (including several large art installations over 20m long) and interactive public visits and workshops.
